Dutch foreign ministry raises Saudi Arabia travel advice to orange

Share

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised its travel advice for Saudi Arabia to orange. Iran has repeatedly targeted the country with missiles and drones, after Iran itself was attacked by the United States and Israel.

Travellers are advised to go to Saudi Arabia only if travel is essential. The ministry says the country is not safe for holiday travel at this time. It also advises against all travel to areas near the border with Yemen, describing the situation there as too dangerous.

KLM said on Sunday that it has stopped flying to the Saudi capital Riyadh and the major port city of Dammam. The airline cited Iranian retaliatory attacks as the reason for the suspension.
