A spokesperson for the National Police Unit stated that the line remains operational. The callers are likely to experience technical difficulties. The 112 emergency line is still functioning. Despite the callers being warned that it may take longer than usual to connect to an operator.
The Rotterdam-Rijnmond Safety Region confirmed that the national dispatch system is experiencing a widespread failure. Although the non-emergency police line operates independently of the 112 emergency system, dispatch centers have reported that 112 is becoming congested due to the disruption. Despite the system failure, the spokesperson confirmed that authorities can still communicate with and alert field units using alternative methods.
