Ye, known worldwide under his former name Kanye West, will perform a one-off show at the GelreDome in Arnhem on Saturday, 6 June. The venue and concert organiser J.Noah Live announced the event on Tuesday. It will be his first European concert since 2014 and his first performance in the Netherlands since 2013.
Ye has been at the centre of several controversies in recent years, including for antisemitic comments made on social media. Last month, he said in a letter published by The Wall Street Journal that his behaviour stems from brain damage he says he sustained in a car accident 25 years ago.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Ye to the GelreDome. This is a show of international stature and a truly exceptional moment for the Dutch public,” a GelreDome spokesperson said in the announcement. “We expect enormous interest.” Ye recently announced his twelfth studio album, Bully, which is scheduled for release on 20 March.
