Firefighters brought a large fire in a multi-tenant business building in Obdam, North Holland, under control at 11:00 PM. The blaze destroyed the building, along with parts that crews dismantled during their work. No one was injured.
Solar panels stood on the roof. The safety region says crews did not find fragments nearby, but pieces may have blown further away. Officials advise residents to use gloves when picking up any shards and to throw them in the grey container.
The fire at De Vaart started in the early evening. The cause remains unclear. Thick smoke drifted across the area, and many onlookers gathered at the scene. An NL-Alert told residents to close their windows and doors. Firefighters used a demolition crane and other equipment to open up the structure and reach the flames more easily.
