Flights shift from Eindhoven to Maastricht and Weeze during runway works

Share

Airlines will divert flights from Eindhoven Airport to Maastricht and the German airport of Weeze during a renovation next year. Transavia will move two of its nine aircraft to Maastricht Aachen Airport and four to Weeze, near Nijmegen. TUI will transfer all flights currently scheduled to operate from Eindhoven to Maastricht.

Eindhoven Airport will close from 1 February to 19 July next year as crews renovate the runway. Ryanair and Wizz Air also operate many flights from Eindhoven, but they have not yet announced how they will proceed. Hungarian low‑cost carrier Wizz Air currently operates the only passenger flights from MAA this summer, serving four destinations. Operators also use the airport in Beek for cargo traffic.

Transavia says travellers from the east and south of the Netherlands particularly favour Eindhoven Airport. Marloes van Laake, the airline’s director of operations, said the company is pleased that Maastricht and Weeze provide well‑connected alternatives for passengers and staff.
