Meerhoven parking woes

Residents in the Meerhoven district of Eindhoven are raising concerns about a growing parking problem in their neighbourhood.

Residents of Graslinnen, Meerhovendreef and Grasdreef in Meerhoven are sounding the alarm about ongoing parking problems in their neighbourhood. According to them, many parking spaces are occupied by travellers who use the nearby Eindhoven Airport and leave their cars parked for free over long periods.

As a result, local residents often struggle to find places to park, particularly in the evenings and weekends. Some cars are said to remain parked for several days or even weeks at a time. Families with children are especially affected, as they are regularly forced to park further away or on neighbouring streets.

In response, 91 residents have signed a petition to the municipality calling for urgent measures to address the issue. They claim to have reported the problem before, but no lasting solution has yet been implemented.

Among the options proposed by residents are parking time limits, a permit system for local households and their visitors, or the introduction of a blue zone to regulate parking more effectively.

The municipality’s response to the latest appeal from Meerhoven residents is not yet known.
