MMC Veldhoven opens new maternity care centre

Share

New parents in the region will soon have more choices in how they spend their first days with their newborn. Máxima MC and Kraamzorg VDA have partnered to open a dedicated maternity centre designed to bridge the gap between hospital care and going home.

The centre will provide a peaceful, “home-from-home” environment for families who may not be ready to return home immediately after birth. Whether you have your baby in the hospital or at home, you can opt to stay in one of eight private, newly renovated rooms. These suites are designed to feel like a bedroom rather than a clinical ward, allowing parents and babies to stay together comfortably.

Daily support will be provided by experienced maternity nurses between 08:00 and 20:00. They are on hand to help with the essentials of newborn care, offer expert breastfeeding guidance, and answer the many questions that arise in those first few days. Each room includes its own private bathroom, ensuring families have the privacy they need to bond.

The hospital is opening this facility to meet the rapid growth of the Brainport region, where experts project more than 100,000 new residents by 2040. By providing this intermediate care, the hospital aims to ensure that the growing number of young families in the area have access to a safe, relaxed start to parenthood.
