GRONINGEN (ANP) – Following the earthquake on Friday morning near the Groningen village of Zandeweer, 49 people have reported damage. Sixteen of these came from the area around the epicentre, where the tremor could have caused damage, reports the Institute for Mining Damage Groningen. Two reports concerned a situation that was “potentially acutely unsafe.”
The institute anticipates that there are homeowners who have reported new damage while their claims had previously been definitively settled. They will be notified by the institute.
Friday’s earthquake was the strongest since March. At that time, there was a tremor of magnitude 3.0 near Assen. Approximately 2,000 damage reports were received then.
