DHL Express urges unions to resume talks after strike causes disruption

Share

DHL Express says it is disappointed by a strike organised on Monday by the trade unions FNV and CNV. The company warns that businesses and private customers may face delays. It adds that recipients can track the status of their parcels via the track-and-trace system on dhlexpress.nl.

FNV and CNV announced that DHL Express staff will strike for almost the entire day. The company mainly handles urgent shipments of documents and parcels. The unions say they are angry because DHL Express will not agree to their demands for a new collective labour agreement. The company has offered a wage rise of 3.25 per cent from 1 July, followed by another 3 per cent from 1 July 2027. The unions say this offer is too low.

DHL Express says it has made “a good and constructive proposal”. The company argues that its offer is strong both in absolute terms and compared with other agreements. It believes the unions have chosen an unnecessarily heavy action too early. DHL Express is calling on the unions to return to negotiations.
