A public school in the German municipality of Probstei has confirmed that the coach involved in an earlier crash on the A28 was carrying students and teachers from the school. The group included 54 students and four teachers who were travelling to Paris. According to the school, there are no indications of life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred on Monday morning when the coach collided with a delivery van. Seven people on board the coach and the driver of the van were taken to hospital. Police had earlier reported that several people were seriously injured.

The A28 remains closed in both directions while investigators examine the scene. Authorities expect the closure to continue for the time being.

The school said those involved are receiving medical care and that the students’ parents have been informed. The students are from two upper-level classes.

The group is being accommodated in a sports hall in Wezep, while those who were injured are being treated at a hospital in Zwolle.
