The municipality is working on the new road structure around Brainport Industries Campus (BIC). Therefore, the Erica will be closed from Friday, 4 September at 20:00 until Monday, 7 September at 05:00. The closure is between the Ring Road and the south-side on- and off‑ramps of the A58. The bicycle path along the Erica will also be closed for an extended period.
During the closure, the municipality will construct a new entrance and exit to the southern worksite. Furthermore, new cables and pipelines will be installed in the carpool area. Trees will also be removed along the south-side access road to the A58.
Diversions
Traffic will be diverted via exit 8 Oirschot, exit 6 Ekkersrijt, and exit 29 Eindhoven Airport. These detours will be indicated with yellow diversion signs. During the temporary closure of the access road on Saturday morning between 06:00 and 10:00, traffic will be routed via the Spottersweg toward the A2.
Extra cycling time
The bicycle path along the Erica has been closed since 24 August for an extended period and is expected to remain closed until mid‑2028. Cyclists will be diverted via the Welschap path on the east side of the Beatrix Canal. The detour adds approximately fifteen minutes of extra travel time.
Accessbility
With the improvement of the infrastructure around BIC North, the area, including the new ASML campus, will remain easily accessible in the future. More information can be found at openeindhoven.nl.
