The KNMI has issued a code yellow weather warning for most of the country today, Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Severe thunderstorms are expected to cause widespread disruption throughout the day.
Expected weather conditions
These storms may bring significant hazards, including large hail and strong wind gusts. Meteorologists warn that hail stones could reach sizes of up to 2 centimetres in diameter. Furthermore, wind gusts may reach speeds of 60 kilometres per hour, potentially causing damage to trees and infrastructure.
The code yellow warning applies to all provinces except for Noord-Holland and Zeeland. The weather alert will end in Limburg and Noord-Brabant last, with an expected expiration time of 22:00.
Recent weather impacts
The country also faced volatile weather conditions on Tuesday. The storm system caused significant local distress and tragic incidents. In Boxtel, a delivery van driver unfortunately passed away after a tree fell onto his vehicle during the storm. Additionally, a severe hailstorm caused extensive damage at a campsite in Raamsdonk.
