A signal failure stopped all train services between Utrecht and The Hague on Monday morning. ProRail says it cannot yet estimate how long the disruption will last and expects delays during the morning rush hour.
Engineers traced the fault to an area near Moordrecht in South Holland. They are still investigating the cause. A spokeswoman says they must first identify the problem, fix the malfunction, and then restart train traffic.
NS has arranged replacement buses between Zoetermeer, Zoetermeer Oost, Lansingerland‑Zoetermeer, and Gouda.
