Odido customers consumed more mobile data in the final quarter of last year than those of rivals KPN and VodafoneZiggo together. This surge stems from a relatively new Odido product. Consequently, this specific usage counts as mobile data instead of fixed-line internet. The Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) reported these findings based on its latest Telecom Monitor. Currently, Odido and KPN share the position of market leaders, while VodafoneZiggo remains slightly smaller.
Total mobile data usage reached a record 829 million gigabytes in the last quarter. This increase happened largely due to Odido’s Klik&Klaar internet service. This figure represents a rise of over 1% from the previous record set only three months earlier. Furthermore, consumers used nearly 3 billion gigabytes of mobile data throughout the whole of 2025. This shows a rapid trend, as usage stood at only 1.6 billion gigabytes in 2022. Thus, the market has nearly doubled in size within just three years.
In contrast, the number of traditional call minutes continued to fall. During the final quarter of 2025, call volumes dropped by nearly 5% to just over 8 billion minutes. This downward trend began after the peak years of 2020 and 2021. Meanwhile, the use of SMS messages is declining even more sharply.
The current report does not yet show whether a recent major data breach caused customers to leave Odido. Since news of the leak only broke last month, any potential impact will likely appear in the next study. Therefore, the long-term effect on Odido’s market share remains uncertain for now.
