Digital voting aids have been widely used across the Brainport region as residents head to the polls today. In Eindhoven, 56,171 eligible voters used the StemWijzer tool to help them choose a party. This represents nearly 30 per cent of the city’s 187,400 eligible voters.
Best and Valkenswaard outperform
The highest levels of digital engagement were recorded in Best and Valkenswaard. In both municipalities, approximately one-third of the electorate used the online tool. In Best, 8,047 people used the service out of 24,000 voters, while in Valkenswaard, 8,186 used the service out of 25,200 voters.
Other nearby areas also showed strong activity. In Helmond, 19,149 voters used the tool, accounting for roughly 25 per cent of the electorate. Veldhoven recorded 8,688 uses, and Waalre reached 4,058.
Despite the high numbers in this international tech hub, it remains unclear how many non-Dutch speakers used the service. ProDemos, the organisation behind the tool, stated they could not confirm how many submissions were completed in English. News Brainport received these numbers from Prodemos at 13:50 this afternoon.
Voting remains open until 21:00 tonight. Residents must bring their voting pass (stempas) and a valid form of identification to their local polling station.
