Thanks to the warm summer weather, Dutch budget retailer Action has sold more seasonal products in recent months, including fans, beach towels, inflatable pools, and barbecues. As a result, turnover rose by 14 percent to 8.3 billion euros in the past six months, the company announced on Thursday.
Action added that sales were supported by an increased customer base as well as price reductions. The retailer now operates 3,423 stores across fifteen European countries. Further growth is expected as the company aims to open at least 400 new locations this year. In the first half of the year, Action has already added 121 stores, including new branches in Sicily and Slovakia. Approximately half of the products in Action stores come from China, the other half from Europe.
Earlier this year, the company also revealed plans to open its first store in the United States by early 2028.
