Transavia says it does not expect more flight cancellations in the coming weeks. Last week, the airline cancelled 22 flights at the last minute after unexpected technical problems and delays in spare‑part deliveries came together. A spokesperson said the situation has stabilised. “That was a very exceptional week, but we are in a good position again now,” she said.
The airline says such cancellations are rare and represent less than half a per cent of all flights. Transavia normally keeps a reserve aircraft ready. Several issues occurred at the same time and stopped some flights from departing. The spokesperson said the airline has fixed the problems and restored capacity.
Transavia also says the recent disruption differs from a few summers ago. At that time, an aircraft shortage forced the airline to cancel many more flights.
