VDL Group acquires industrial ventilation company Limoco

VDL Group has strengthened its industrial air technology division with the acquisition of Limoco, a Flemish family business based in Opglabbeek. Limoco specialises in turnkey systems for industrial ventilation and extraction, a sector where VDL has been active for decades through its subsidiary, VDL Industrial Products.

Founded in 1975 as (Limburgse Montage Compagnie), Limoco provides custom-made solutions for industrial and residential air technology. The company has around 50 employees and has maintained stable annual sales of approximately €10 million in recent years.

The acquisition formalises a 20-year partnership between the two companies. In large-scale projects, Limoco typically manages the entire process from design to installation, while VDL Industrial Products supplies key components, including piping, locks, and valves. The merger allows VDL to offer a broader, more integrated service package to clients in the food, high-tech, and mobility sectors.

“Our customers increasingly want a single supplier who manages everything from design to delivery,” said Tim Stinkens, who took over the leadership of Limoco from his father in 2019. “This is often a challenge for us alone. VDL is a stable partner that can help us achieve future growth at home and abroad.”

Willem van der Leegte, CEO of VDL Group, noted that the move would benefit both parties through shared knowledge and improved operational efficiency. By combining their procurement and logistics capabilities, the companies aim to strengthen their market position in industrial air technology.

Limoco will continue to operate, focusing on its core values of quality and flexibility. Because the company manages the entire production process from initial design to assembly and maintenance, it can minimise disruption to its customers’ manufacturing operations.
