Police have confirmed that significantly more people were arrested during the Extinction Rebellion (XR) roadblock on the A12 than initially reported. In total, officers detained between 400 and 450 activists.

Earlier police reports suggested there were 200 arrests, but that figure only included individuals who had physically occupied the road surface. An additional 200 people were arrested after being stopped by police before they could reach the motorway.

Other arrests occurred on the A2 flyover, where a group of protesters were detained for blocking the route and hanging banners. Police also stopped six drivers who intentionally caused a traffic jam on the A12 to block the road. These men, aged between 40 and 79, come from Utrecht, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, Tilburg, Almelo, and IJsselstein. They have been ordered to report to the CBR for a mandatory educational measure regarding their driving conduct.
