The parallel carriageway of the Eindhoven bypass (N2) will be closed overnight between Veldhoven-Zuid and Waalre from 30 March to 1 April. Rijkswaterstaat has announced that the closure is necessary to install new safety barriers (geleiderail) along the road.
The road will be closed during two specific periods: from 21:00 on Monday, 30 March until 05:00 on Tuesday, 31 March, and again from 21:00 on Tuesday, 31 March until 05:00 on Wednesday, 1 April. During these times, the N2 will be inaccessible between the De Hogt interchange and the Waalre exit in the direction of Maastricht and Venlo. Additionally, the Veldhoven-Zuid (32) slip road towards Antwerp and Maastricht and the High Tech Campus (32a) slip road will both be closed.
Motorists will be diverted via yellow signs placed along the route, which provide details on the temporary traffic situation and alternative paths. According to Rijkswaterstaat, the new barriers are being installed near the High Tech Campus junction to improve road safety on this stretch. By carrying out the work at night, the road authority aims to minimise disruption for road users.
Rijkswaterstaat emphasised that the safety of both motorists and road workers is the top priority. Drivers are urged to follow all directions and strictly adhere to the temporary speed limits.
