The municipality of The Hague has urged people to travel to the beach by bicycle, scooter or public transport, as car parks in Kijkduin and Scheveningen are now full.
Earlier on Sunday, the municipality warned of heavy crowds on social media, noting that the Pentecost weekend and warm weather were drawing large numbers of visitors to the coast.
People who still plan to travel by car are advised to park in a car park in the city centre and continue their journey by tram or bus.
