CDA Eindhoven believes that a successful city is more than just a strong economy; it is a city where communities thrive, neighbourhoods are safe and liveable, and growth benefits everyone.
The party’s key strengths and priorities include practical solutions to the housing crisis, such as building more homes and reducing bureaucratic obstacles. It aims to empower neighbourhoods through local budgets and greater resident participation while promoting integration and community spirit in a growing international city. Additionally, the party focuses on improving mobility and accessibility across all modes of transport and on supporting economic growth while ensuring broad prosperity.
Above all, CDA stands for responsibility, solidarity, and cooperation between citizens, businesses, and local government. With a focus on less policy and more action, CDA aims to ensure that Eindhoven continues to grow not only as a world-class economy but also as a world-class society.
Tackling the housing shortage
Eindhoven is becoming increasingly attractive as a place to live. In 2025, the city reached the milestone of 250,000 residents, and projections indicate the population is steadily moving toward 300,000. While this growth reflects the city’s success, it has also created a major challenge: a shortage of suitable housing.
House prices and rents have risen sharply, making it increasingly difficult for first-time buyers, young families, and students to find affordable homes. The core problem is simple: there are too few homes, and too few of the right kind.
CDA believes that talking about affordability alone will not solve the crisis; more homes must actually be built. To address this, CDA proposes the Eindhoven Housing Crisis and Recovery Act, a realistic housing programme that includes reducing unnecessary regulations that slow down construction, giving priority to people with ties to Eindhoven, and helping seniors move to suitable homes to free up family houses for younger generations. By encouraging mobility within the housing market, CDA aims to create opportunities for students, starters, and families who currently struggle to find a place in the city.
Connected neighbourhoods
At the heart of CDA’s vision lies the belief that strong communities create strong cities. Neighbourhoods should not just be places where people live—they should be places where people know each other, work together, and take pride in their surroundings.
To strengthen community involvement, CDA proposes a dedicated neighbourhood budget for every district, at least three improvements per neighbourhood each year, and streamlined procedures for organising local initiatives. This approach gives residents greater influence in decisions affecting their area and empowers citizens to actively shape their surroundings, fostering cooperation and local pride.
A friendly atmosphere in a growing city
The economic success of the Brainport region has attracted many international residents to Eindhoven. CDA sees this as a positive development, as Eindhoven has always been a city shaped by migration and new ideas.
However, growth must remain balanced and inclusive. CDA believes that all residents share both rights and responsibilities. As internationals increasingly stay longer in the city, integration becomes more important. For CDA, integration begins with language and participation. The party wants internationals to feel at home while actively contributing to the community. Proposed measures include expanding language cafés (taalcafés) where internationals can practise Dutch, promoting the idea that speaking Dutch should be the norm in Eindhoven, and launching campaigns to encourage expats to participate in local associations, volunteer work, and neighbourhood activities. The goal is connection rather than separation, ensuring that new and long-time residents build a shared community.

Mobility
As Eindhoven grows, mobility becomes increasingly important. Residents need to be able to move around the city safely, efficiently, and sustainably. CDA aims to ensure Eindhoven remains accessible for everyone, whether travelling on foot, by bicycle, by car, or by public transport.
Key proposals include constructing four crossroads intersections on the Ring Road to improve traffic flow and experimenting with free bus transport to make public transport more attractive. The party also advocates for increasing the number of buses, strengthening regional connections, expanding parking permit options, and making school zones safer. Furthermore, CDA supports the development of better, safer cycling routes and the implementation of major infrastructure projects outlined in the Brainport Deal and the Beethoven Covenant.
Economy and broad prosperity
Eindhoven is one of the most innovative and economically dynamic regions in Europe, and CDA is proud of the city’s success. However, economic growth should translate into broad prosperity, benefiting all residents rather than only a select few.
CDA supports continued growth while ensuring it remains balanced and sustainable. Important initiatives include facilitating the expansion of ASML at the Brainport Industries Campus, which could potentially create 15,000 to 20,000 jobs. The party also focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), ensuring sufficient space in business parks, and helping companies become more sustainable through the Business Parks Future Fund. By improving access to financing for start-ups and scale-ups through public-private partnerships, CDA aims to strengthen Eindhoven’s economy while maintaining the quality of life for its residents.
