KLM will not operate flights to Dubai for the time being because of the ongoing war in the Middle East. The airline has cancelled all flights to the destination until 28 March.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, KLM said it understands the impact on passengers and is doing everything possible to keep them informed. The airline has not flown to Dubai since the conflict began more than a week and a half ago. The suspension has been extended several times, often by only a day or a few days, but is now in place for more than two weeks.
KLM confirmed that passengers affected by cancellations will be notified. They may rebook their tickets free of charge or request a refund. The airline added that it continues to evaluate the situation and remains in close contact with the relevant authorities. It will share updates on the resumption of flights as soon as new information becomes available.
In a separate statement, KLM also said it will not fly to Riyadh or Dammam in Saudi Arabia until Thursday, 12 March. The airline stated that it is closely monitoring developments in the region and is continually assessing whether flying to certain destinations is safe.
KLM noted that it remains available to assist with the repatriation of stranded travellers. These efforts are being organised through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
