The KNMI has issued a code yellow weather warning for the provinces of Limburg, North Brabant, Gelderland, Overijssel, and Drenthe. According to the meteorological institute, heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and torrential rain are expected to sweep across these regions. Some localised areas could see between 20 and 30 millimetres of rainfall within a short timeframe.
The weather service warns that travel and outdoor events may experience disruption due to the severe weather. Whilst the majority of the rain is expected to clear by Friday evening, conditions in the south-east may remain unsettled for longer.
