Online storefronts for Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall & Gall are fully operational again following a major cybersecurity incident. Parent company Ahold Delhaize previously shut down core IT systems to contain the attack. While digital channels in the Netherlands have recovered, several US websites suffered fresh technical setbacks on Tuesday. Despite these challenges, Dutch logistics teams report steady progress as distribution networks clear backlogged orders.
Supply recovery and customer compensation
Physical supermarkets across the country still face localized stock shortages. Reporters observed bare shelves in fruit, vegetable, dairy, and household aisles at branches in Bergen op Zoom, Leidschenveen, and The Hague. Albert Heijn confirmed that full deliveries for fresh and shelf-stable products have resumed nationwide. However, individual stores still need time to reach normal stock levels. To address customer disruption, Albert Heijn issues automatic €10 shopping vouchers to customers whose online orders were cancelled. The company also automatically credits missed Air Miles and digital discounts. Customers seeking missed physical purchase stamps (koopzegels) can redeem them by bringing store receipts to service desks.
