Customers who place an order with the Bijenkorf webshop now will receive their products on 3 September at the earliest, the department store chain states on its website. Delivery times have grown sharply after a security incident at logistics partner CEVA Logistics.
De Bijenkorf already warned that the incident caused delays in handling orders, returns, and refunds. Last Wednesday, the chain said the data leak at CEVA affected its operations, along with those of bol, eyewear chain Ace & Tate, and Ajax.
Ace & Tate also faces disruption. Customers can order frames online only for in‑store pickup. The company still offers lenses through standard delivery.
Bol reports that the incident disrupted two systems used to process orders at one of its distribution centres. The company says it took the assortment at the affected location offline and cancelled some orders, while others may arrive late. Bol adds that its other logistics sites continue to operate.
The leak may allow unauthorised persons to access customer personal data at the affected companies.
De Bijenkorf has not responded to questions from the ANP. CEVA says it will not share information about the data leak.
