Fastned was among the top gainers on the Amsterdam stock exchange on Friday. The electric car charging company had a great week after opening a record number of new charging stations in the first half of the year. Fastned shares jumped 5.5 per cent, on top of a 9 per cent rise on Thursday. The company cut its losses and gave a brighter profit outlook for 2026, while also getting a boost from positive reports by analysts at Deutsche Bank and Jefferies.
Overall, the main Amsterdam stock index (the AEX) dropped 0.2 per cent to 1,117.82 points. Stock markets in London and Paris also fell slightly by 0.2 per cent, while Frankfurt gained 0.5 per cent.
Investment firm CVC Capital Partners led the top stocks with a 2.2 per cent gain after agreeing to buy a data centre business in Frankfurt. On the other hand, chip companies ASML, Besi, and ASMI fell by up to 1.9 per cent following updates from US supplier Applied Materials. Magnum ice cream parent company Unilever also finished the day down 1.9 per cent.
Electric bus maker Ebusco fell 4.5 per cent before releasing its latest financial results, hurt by news earlier in the week that a German customer had cancelled an order for 23 buses. Finally, payment firm Adyen rose 0.2 per cent, holding onto huge gains from Thursday when its shares soared 16 per cent on strong sales figures.
