The websites of Gall & Gall and Etos have been accessible again since Sunday evening. They were offline for a week following a major cybersecurity incident at parent company Ahold Delhaize. Customers can also place orders again through the websites of the liquor and drugstore chains, according to a spokesperson.
The Etos and Gall & Gall apps are not yet available. The spokesperson said they are “working hard on it”.
The website and app of sister chain Albert Heijn have also been back online since Sunday. This means customers can once again access services such as their loyalty stamps.
However, online grocery orders at Albert Heijn are unlikely to resume until Friday. Customers whose orders were cancelled after they had already paid can expect a refund within a few days. Albert Heijn will provide more information later about compensation for personal discounts and savings promotions.
Cause
Albert Heijn still does not indicate that personal data was involved in the incident. The cause also remains unclear. Ahold Delhaize shut down systems as a precaution following the incident.
“We cannot comment on further details of the investigation into the nature and cause of the cybersecurity incident at this time,” Albert Heijn said in an update on Sunday.
The incident caused major supply problems at stores, particularly Albert Heijn supermarkets. This resulted in empty shelves at several locations in the Netherlands.
Supermarkets are now receiving deliveries several times a day according to the regular schedule. As a result, shelves are becoming better stocked.
Several websites and apps belonging to Ahold Delhaize brands in the United States were still offline on Monday morning. These included the supermarket chains Food Lion, Stop & Shop and The Giant Company.
