Police found 586 kilos of drugs during a search last week in the Duindorp neighbourhood of The Hague. They arrested nine men in connection with the case, the police said on Monday. One suspect has since left custody but remains part of the investigation. The other eight will appear before the examining magistrate on Wednesday, 12 August.
On Thursday evening, officers searched a residence on Zeezwaluwhof in The Hague. A heavily armed security unit guarded the property throughout the operation. Police seized the drugs and later destroyed them.
Investigators are still determining each suspect’s role in the case. The police and the Public Prosecution Service are sharing limited details “due to the ongoing investigation.”
