ING reports that some customers may have been affected by a data leak at one of its logistics partners. The issue concerns people who ordered a physical product through the ING Points programme and had it home delivered. The bank stresses that no ING systems, including bank accounts, payment details, savings information, financial data, or login credentials, have been involved.
External partner
The data leak occurred at a partner that stores and delivers some of the physical products from the ING Shop. ING says the partner’s investigation shows that unauthorised individuals may have accessed customer data used to process ING Points orders. This concerns names, addresses, phone numbers, email details and information about the products ordered.
Undisclosed identity
ING has not revealed which logistics company is involved. The bank says it is continuing to monitor the situation and will inform affected customers where necessary.
