Chris Figee will leave telecom group KPN to join chip supplier ASMI, both companies announced on Monday. He will step down from KPN on 1 November.

Figee has served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board member at KPN since 1 February 2020. KPN’s Supervisory Board will soon begin the search for his successor. At ASMI, Figee will first take on the role of Executive Vice President for Special Projects. In this position, he reports to ASMI CEO Hichem M’Saad and works alongside Supervisory Board Chair Pauline van der Meer Mohr.

ASMI will submit Figee’s appointment as Chief Financial Officer and Board member to shareholders for approval at the General Meeting, expected in March 2027. He will succeed current Chief Financial Officer Paul Verhagen.

Verhagen has previously said he will retire at the end of his second term in May 2027. He will remain Chief Financial Officer and Board member until shareholders vote on Figee’s appointment.

Before joining KPN, the Dutchman Figee worked as Chief Financial Officer and Board member at ASR Nederland. He began his career at Aegon, held senior roles at Achmea, and later became a partner at McKinsey & Company. He also serves on the Supervisory Board of Royal Schiphol Group and De Nederlandsche Bank.
