Amsterdam says it assesses risks before every match and allows spontaneous celebrations in public spaces. A spokesperson notes that celebrations can escalate, so the city prepares thoroughly each time. The municipality does not comment on safety measures.
The Hague has installed temporary security cameras in busy areas and added extra surveillance and traffic measures. Officials based their plans on previous matches and aim to ensure a safe and positive atmosphere.
Utrecht also prepares for different scenarios around matches involving teams with a large following. A spokesperson says the city expects people to turn the late‑night match into a fun event, regardless of the result. Utrecht does not comment on security plans.
Rotterdam reviews its deployment for every match but will not say what measures apply tonight. The city is giving extra attention to several World Cup matches because of possible festivities or unrest.
Amersfoort says the municipality and police are monitoring the situation closely. The city has added extra camera surveillance at the De Stier roundabout, where unrest occurred during earlier matches.
