The Tax and Customs Administration has received more than 6.8 million tax returns so far, it said. This is slightly more than at the same point last year, when over 6.7 million returns had been submitted halfway through the filing period.
According to the Tax and Customs Administration, most people file their tax return online. About 76 per cent submit their return via (MijnBelastingdienst). Others use the tax return app, file through intermediaries, or, in a smaller number of cases, submit a paper return. The deadline for filing is 1 May.
The Tax and Customs Administration aims to send a message to everyone who files a return after 1 April within three months. People who submitted their return before 1 April will receive a message before 1 July.
