Most Arriva bus services will not run on Wednesday because of the nationwide public transport strike. The transport company is trying to operate as many services as possible, but no Arriva trains will run at all during the day.
Arriva said it does not know whether a bus driver will take part in the strike until the service is due to start. As a result, the company only has a clear overview of the buses operating on Wednesday morning.
In Twente and the Achterhoek, no regular bus services are running. Only smaller buses and local services are operating. In North Brabant, around a quarter of Arriva buses are running, while about 30% are operating in Limburg. In the Rivierenland region, three-quarters of bus services are running.
Arriva has advised travellers to check journey planners regularly for the latest information.
The nationwide public transport strike is part of a series of industrial actions organised by trade unions in protest against government cuts to social security.
