Trains are running again between Boxmeer and Venray on Monday morning, according to Arriva’s journey planner and travel information. The route closed on Thursday when a wildfire spread through the Boschhuizerbergen nature reserve, east of Venray.
Earlier last week, Arriva also stopped services because the fire made the area unsafe. The operator restarted trains on Thursday morning, but the fire flared up again later that day. Firefighters expanded their efforts, and Arriva halted services once more.
Arriva said trains would not run between Boxmeer and Venray through Sunday. Buses supported travellers during the suspension.
