The PRO, CDA, and D66 parties presented their new coalition agreement, titled ‘Forward Together, Home Together’, on Thursday 11 June. The agreement sets out a strategy for Eindhoven to balance rapid economic growth with a sustainable future, liveable neighbourhoods, and affordable housing.

As Eindhoven quickly develops into a leading innovative hub, its growth has increased pressure on housing, local amenities, and the living environment. To address this, the coalition plan focuses on providing sufficient affordable housing, accessible neighbourhood facilities, and a green, healthy city. The parties emphasised that practical implementation is their priority, ensuring that plans become visible to residents.

Rik Thijs, the lead candidate for PRO, said that the most important goal is to ensure Eindhoven remains healthy and social. He noted that the coalition is investing in greenery, economic security, and diversity to keep the city liveable for both current and future generations.

The coalition will develop new areas while explicitly investing in existing districts. Remco van Dooren, the lead candidate for the CDA, explained that they want to ensure neighbourhoods remain pleasant and safe, with good facilities close to home. He added that they will continue to build the Brainport region while giving entrepreneurs plenty of room to do business and innovate.

Accessibility, culture, and regional cooperation also feature prominently in the agreement. Chris Dams, the lead candidate for D66, stated that they are working towards a city that is easy to travel around, has room for culture and creators, and builds its future in partnership with residents and the wider region.

By focusing less on policy development and more on practical action, the coalition aims to create a city where all residents feel at home, can participate, and support one another.
