The service used by municipalities, provinces, and water boards to publish official notices is back online after being temporarily taken offline as a precaution following concerns about vulnerabilities in the PHP programming language. According to a spokesperson for NotuBiz, all affected websites have been restored. “After thorough testing, all systems are up and running again”. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) said there is no evidence that the vulnerabilities have been exploited. Authorities also reported no signs of misuse.
NotuBiz, which provides services to more than a hundred municipalities, provinces, and water boards, decided to take its systems offline after a warning about the PHP vulnerabilities. Several municipal websites were also affected, although most had already returned online by Wednesday.
The DigiD website is once again accessible after being unavailable for most of the day. Most websites managed by Logius have also resumed operations, although some services are still being restored, according to a spokesperson. Despite the DigiD website being inaccessible for several hours, users were still able to use the DigiD login screen on connected websites and services.
Other affected websites have since returned online as well. The website of Meld Misdaad Anoniem resumed operations on Thursday morning, while several judicial websites were also restored. Rechtspraak.nl, where court rulings and other legal information can be accessed, remained available throughout Wednesday.
